I started Adair & Co to give growing businesses access to the kind of expertise that usually only large companies can afford.
I’m Adair Taulbee, a technology and business strategist with over 25 years of experience helping companies of all sizes grow smarter. Adair & Co is where that experience goes to work for small and mid-sized businesses in Fort Worth and beyond.

Honestly? Starting this business was an accident.
I’ve been working in technology since the late 1990s — across companies of every size and vertical, consulting for businesses and higher education, and founding several companies along the way. Over the course of that career I’ve worked all over the DFW Metroplex, logged more cross-country flights than I can count, traveled internationally as part of an acquisition, and worked with offshore teams on virtually every side of the globe. I also helped move a company I co-founded to a remote hybrid model long before Covid made that a necessity for everyone else. I started consulting on my own without a grand plan, but I brought all of that with me when I did.
Over the course of my career I’ve been through many acquisitions, on every side of the table. I understand how they work, what they require, and what separates the businesses that come out well from the ones that don’t. For some owners, a successful exit is the goal. For others, they’re building something multi-generational and have no intention of ever selling. That’s just as valid a vision. Either way, having systems, processes, and technology that are clean, documented, and well-run isn’t just good for an acquisition — it’s good for the business regardless of where it’s headed.
Through all of it, I looked up one day and realized I’d built a coaching and consulting business. I’d served a real range of clients, done work I was proud of, and found something that kept pulling me back: helping good people and their businesses grow. Not the enterprise projects, though those come with their own interesting challenges. The small and mid-sized businesses. The ones where the owner is smart, motivated, and capable of building something significant — but where the right expertise at the right moment changes everything.
That’s where my passion lives. And that’s what Adair & Co is built around.
Most vCIOs focus on technology. I focus on your business.
My background isn’t just operational and backend systems. It spans marketing technology, sales funnels, sales process, revenue infrastructure, and compliance. That combination is genuinely uncommon. Most people who offer vCIO or technology leadership services think about systems, security, and risk. I think about all of that and how it connects to how you actually grow.
Every engagement starts with a deep understanding of your specific business, not a template applied from the outside. I’m not here to sell you tools, push a preferred vendor, or give you a generic roadmap. I’m fluent in the major compliance frameworks — SOC 2, HIPAA, NIST, FINRA, ISO 27001, and others — and I bring that knowledge to bear as a practical business tool, not just a checkbox exercise. I’m here to understand what you’re building, where the friction is, and where technology can be a genuine strategic asset rather than just another system to manage.
Whether you’re building toward an exit or building something you intend to pass down, I’ve been on every side of that table, and I can help you prepare for either. The businesses that are ready for what’s next are the ones that built the right foundation before they needed it.
The relationships I build with clients are the part of this work I value most. Helping a business grow is personal. Doing it in a way that creates lasting trust — that’s what I’m here for.

The right fit matters to both of us.
This is a fit if…
This isn’t a fit if…
Fort Worth born and raised. Rooted across the county line.
I didn’t end up here…I’m from here. Born and raised in Fort Worth, and as connected to Parker County as anyone you’ll meet on either side of that line.
Adair & Co is actively involved in the business communities on both sides. I’m a proud member of the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, the Parker County Chamber of Commerce, and the National Society of IT Service Providers — and I’m currently mentoring several local small businesses across both communities.
Helping Fort Worth and Parker County businesses grow isn’t just what I do. It’s personal. If you’re a local business owner, there’s a good chance we’ve already crossed paths — and if we haven’t yet, I’d like to change that.
